How To Achieve Holistic Wellness

Health is wealth.
And I believe that we can all agree on this.

However, as we grow older, we realize that this popular saying is not just about our physical health.

It also speaks true of the other aspects we have in our life.

This is essentially what holistic wellness focuses on.

It's all about having a healthy state across physical, mental, emotional, social, spiritual, financial and environmental aspects of one's life.

Taking care of your own over-all health and well-being is part of practicing self-love and self-acceptance as you work on yourself, improve more in the process and become the person you're meant to be: your own #bestmeever .

So now, allow me to share these tips with you on how you can achieve holistic wellness as you mindfully choose what would work best for you in the long run.

Physical

  • Go for long walks. Enjoy your surroundings and just be one with nature. Try to look at everything from curious lens. Walking for 30-mins a day, 5x a week can do wonders for your health and your weight.
  • Exercise. Choose one that excites you. Whether you want to lift weights at the gym, play sports or do gymnastics or swim, having a regular exercise routine can help improve your physical health and make you happier in the process as you release your stress and worries while sweating out.
  • You are what you eat so be mindful enough to eat in moderation and try to have a balanced meal each time to ensure that your body gets all the nutrients and vitamins it needs.

Mental

  • Stop overthinking. It won't do you any good. Just focus on facts and work around them. No need to complicate simple matters.
  • Do a digital detox. Life outside social media will always be better. So give your mind a rest from all the noise online by limiting your screen time.
  • Do a hard stop. Stop stressing over things that are not life changing. Your well-being is far more important. And yes, work can wait. But your life can't.

Social

  • Surround yourself with people who inspire you to be your best. Do away with those who only bring you stress.
  • Don't feel guilty for cutting ties with people who no longer bring you joy or those who don't help you grow.
  • Make time for people who truly matter to you but also make time for yourself. You are just as important.

Emotional

  • Stop resisting your emotions. Don't label them as good or bad. Instead, let them flow and allow yourself to experience them as is. Only then will you get to learn and grow from the experience.
  • Never let anyone or anything invalidate how you feel. Your feelings are valid at the time they surfaced. Respect the space you're in.
  • Never let your emotions cloud your judgments. Wait for them to stabilize first before making decisions. Give them time. and process them there after so you don't do anything impulsively.

Financial

  • Save for the rainy days. Start from 10% of your monthly earnings then go higher as time goes by. And no, you don't need to spend your bonus in full when the holidays arrive.
  • To earn more, you need to be willing to invest more on yourself. Upskill. Adding to your skills set can help you earn more as you maximize your own talents fully. Who knows, by doing so, you get to realize your own calling. Do what you love and love what you do so it will love you back.
  • Have an abundant mindset. I always say you become what you believe in so trust that you will always be provided for. Be grateful every time you pay your bills and anticipate good news ahead with full surrender. That can change the game for you.

Environmental

  • Declutter your space. It helps clear your mind as well.
  • Bring the outdoors in. Get plants. Get yourself a pet. Share spaces with living things that bring about beauty and unconditional companionship.
  • Personalize your space. Own it. Fill it with stuff that remind you of your own value and how beautiful life is.

Spiritual

  • Always find time to practice your faith. Never be too busy to forget what's in your core.
  • Be a blessing to others. You don't have to have much to help out someone in need. You just have to be willing to do so.. It's such a rewarding experience actually.
  • Have ample "me time" to reflect and recalibrate as needed. Quiet moments help you ground yourself on your faith.

I hope these tips will help you achieve the holistic health and wellness you want and deserve in your life.

At the end of the day, you are the best investment you can ever make.
So make sure you take care of yourself, holistically.
